May 2023

We are pleased to announce the latest release of Statseeker. Here’s a summary of the new features in v5.6.0.

Dashboard Panel Templates

Panel templates are preconfigured panels which can be added to your custom dashboards. Statseeker v5.6.0 offers over 30 ready-to-use panel templates including:

  • Tables presenting anomalous traffic, details on ‘Device Down’ events, threshold breaches and VPN user sessions.
  • Device uptime and Ping RTT comparison graphs.
  • CPU load and interface utilization single statistics.
  • Worldmap panels presenting device status, interface outages and high network load.
  • A wide range of ‘TopN’ interface traffic graphs.

For more information, see Panel Templates.

Default Dashboard Variables

Statseeker automatically includes 3 pre-configured variables in all newly created custom dashboards on initial save:

  • Group ($Group) – a list of all groups (containing at least one device) on the server.
  • Device ($Device) – a list of all devices on the server, filtered by the current value of the Group variable.
  • TopN ($TopN) – text-box which can be referenced in a query’s Limit field to restrict the number or rows returned by the panel query.

These variables are added to all newly created custom dashboards on initial save of the dashboard.

For more information, see Dashboard Variables.

Ping Polling Update

Statseeker has restructured Ping data collection.

  • Ping RTT has been replaced entirely by what was previously Ping RTT (high precision). All associated reports and dashboards are updated on upgrade to use this new default.
  • Added Ping RTT Minimum, Maximum and Jitter at 1-minute granularity.
  • Ping Lost data has been simplified and expanded.
  • Updated how we record Ping Duplicated data.

SNMP State Monitoring

Statseeker now automatically monitors and records SNMP state changes across all SNMP polled devices on your network. This data enables SNMP Availability tracking and both SNMP state and Availability have been added to a number of default dashboard reports. These metrics can also be utilized in custom dashboards, reports, thresholds and alert configurations.

System and Administration

  • OS updated to FreeBSD 13.1-RELEASE-p7.
  • Incorporated CDT packages for Juniper CPU, RPM and CoS, Palo Alto HA, Blue Coat Systems, Cisco WSA, EfficientIP, Aruba Optical, Hirschmann Optical, MOXA Optical, and Enviromux Environment Monitoring.
  • The Console can now be hidden/exposed on a per- user basis.
  • Usernames now support email addresses.
  • Expanded SNMPv3 encryption options (SHA1, SHA224, SHA256, SHA384, SHA512, and MD5).

  • Added:
    • SNMP Availability, Outages and SLA reports

    • Palo Alto HA Status
    • A range of F5 Big IP reports
    • Aruba and Hirschmann Optical Signal monitoring reports
    • APC Power Systems
    • A range of Juniper CoS and RPM reports

Dashboards

  • Legacy dashboard system is removed on upgrade (no legacy dashboard will be available to any user post-upgrade to v5.6.0) – for assistance migrating existing legacy content, see Legacy Dashboard Migration.
  • Improvements to, and standardization of, dashboard linking and drilldown options across all panel configurations.
  • Worldmap panels now feature options to configure multi-level labels for map nodes.
